DigitalFems presents, through the Gender data laboratory it directs, the conclusions of data analysis about What is Datos Contra el Ruido?
Datos Contra el Ruido is a platform that makes visible the information published by the judicial system and the police about sexist violence. Our goal is to make judicial statistics understandable with Big Data through graphs.
We aim to measure the degree of sexist violence in Spain, within the areas of gender violence, domestic violence and sexual violence through a team of specialists in data processing, open data and data visualization.
The project combines different Big Data modelling processes to:
- Debunk Misinformation – fact-check false claims (political, social, economic) using public data and rigorous analysis.
- Data-Driven Investigations – Uncover hidden trends (e.g., inequality, climate change, public spending) with clear, accessible visualizations and reports.
- Advocate for Transparency – Push for open data and hold institutions accountable.
- Collaborative Journalism – Partner with media outlets and NGOs to amplify impact.
Why Is This Important
In an era of «fake news,» we turn raw official data into reliable insights, empowering citizens to make informed decisions.
Example Work:
- Fact-checking viral claims about migration or economics.
- Exposing disparities in sexist ciolence access.
