DigitalFems joins forces with The F-List to push for gender-aware copyright and AI policies
We are proud to have contributed to the official response submitted by The F-List for Music to the UK Intellectual Property Office consultation on Copyright and Artificial Intelligence — alongside ICMP and Donne, Women in Music.
At DigitalFems, we brought in our perspective on gender bias in AI and music metadata, highlighting how data-driven systems often reinforce existing inequalities in the music industry. Our joint response calls for:
👉 A gendered approach to AI policymaking
👉 The integration of gender metadata into streaming platforms
👉 Transparent and fair algorithmic design
👉 No broad exceptions for AI use in copyright
👉 Clear labelling of AI-generated music
