Since September 2023, we are part of the Board of Directors of Algorights, a collaborative network to vindicate human rights in the field of artificial intelligence.

Through this initiative, we want to support with our knowledge a critical, constructive and courageous look at visions and legislative developments on AI and other algorithmic processes. Our contribution will also focus on promoting a critical gender perspective.

What Is Algorights?

Algorights is a nonprofit organization that works at the intersection of human rights, algorithmic accountability, and policy advocacy. Its mission is to:
Audit AI systems for bias, discrimination, and ethical risks.

Educate policymakers, companies, and the public on responsible AI use.

Push for regulations that protect marginalized communities from harmful tech practices.

Why Does This Matter?

AI and automated decision-making systems increasingly shape employment, healthcare, finance, and law enforcement—yet they often reflect and amplify societal inequalities. For example:

  • Gender bias in hiring algorithms.

  • Racial discrimination in facial recognition.

  • Lack of transparency in public-sector AI.

As part of Algorights, DigitalFems intend to:
Advocate for inclusive AI development that considers diverse lived experiences.
Support audits of high-risk algorithms affecting women’s rights.
Collaborate with global ethical AI initiatives to share knowledge and strategies.

Our Vision

Technology should empower, not exclude. Through this partnership, we aim to bridge the gap between feminist activism and tech governance, creating a future where algorithms are fair, accountable, and designed for all.
